NTT Docomo Confirms Xperia GX for July, Xperia SX Coming in August - MobilEgypt

Although we don’t have any information regarding a possible release of Sony Xperia GX and Xperia SX outside Japan, at least we know the smartphone will be launched this summer. During the smartphones’ launch event, Japanese carrier NTT Docomo has confirmed that Xperia GX will hit shelves in July, while the Xperia SX is expected to arrive in stores sometime in August. In addition, some of the phones’ specs have been unveiled as well, even though both Xperia GX and Xperia SX were officially announced in Japan about a week ago. In this regard, NTT Docomo mentioned that both handsets are equipped with Qualcomm’s MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processors clocked at 1.5 GHz, which are complemented by 1GB of RAM and Adreno 225 graphics processing unit. Sony Xperia GX offers users 16GB of internal memory, whereas the Xperia SX only packs 8GB onboard memory. The carrier also confirmed both smartphones would come with microSD card slots for memory expansion (up to 32GB). For the time being, we’re not sure whether or not either of the two handsets will be delivered with a free memory card in the sales package. On the back, the Xperia GX boasts an impressive 13-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor R sensor, autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. The Xperia SX comes with a slightly smaller 8-megapixel photo snapper, but features the same Sony imaging technology and capabilities. It is also worth mentioning that Xperia GX sports a large 4.6-inch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and HD resolution, while the Xperia SX features a much smaller 3.7-inch display based on the same technology. Obviously, both Xperia phones will be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, but Sony also announced they would be bundled with three new interesting apps: WALKMAN, Movie and Album.

Is the HTC Ville C a cheaper One S? - MobilEgypt

The Desire C has barely revealed itself as HTC's latest pocket-friendly Android phone, but another device following the same naming convention might also be on the cards. According to BriefMobile, a lower-priced One S variant, currently under the Ville C moniker, will shed the dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 and use a (presumably cheaper) dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S3 (MSM8260). That's the same processor found in last year's Sensation , although we're skeptical of that clock speed. Otherwise, the leaked specs match the One S on the important stuff, including a 4.3-inch AMOLED display (with the same qHD resolution), an 8-megapixel auto- focus camera alongside HTC's ImageSense chip and 16GB of storage. Yep, like the One S, there's no option to expand storage, but if the price is right (and it does exist), we might be more willing to forgive that particular shortcoming.

HTC’s One X and EVO 4G LTE Get Delayed at Customs - MobilEgypt

Many mobile phone users in the United States were eagerly waiting for two new HTC smartphones to make an appearance on shelves in the coming weeks, but it seems that they are out of luck. Said devices, the HTC One X for AT&T and the HTC EVO 4G LTE for Sprint, got hold up at customs due to an exclusion order issued by ITC. The United States International Trade Commission issued the order back in December at Apple’s bidding. Those of you who might kept an eye on the legal dispute between Apple and HTC are certainly familiar with the issue and know that the order was set to go into effect on April 19th. For the time being, these two smartphones are the only ones we know of to have been affected by the ruling, but we might expect for other HTC devices to suffer a similar fate, if things don’t get sorted out soon. HTC has already announced the delay, but it was unable to provide additional info on the matter, a recent article on Engadget reads. “The US availability of the HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE has been delayed due to a standard U.S. Customs review of shipments that is required after an ITC exclusion order,” HTC reportedly had to say on the matter. “We believe we are in compliance with the ruling and HTC is working closely with Customs to secure approval. The HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE have been received enthusiastically by customers and we appreciate their patience as we work to get these products into their hands as soon as possible.” The HTC EVO 4G LTE was expected to arrive on shelves at Sprint as soon as this week, on Friday, May 18th, but it might not be able to make it to the party. Keep an eye on this space for additional details.

Motorola ATRIX 2 Goes on Sale in Saudi Arabia - MobilEgypt

The mid-range Motorola ATRIX 2 Android smartphone has finally reached Saudi Arabia. The device can now be purchased via selected leading mobile phone retailers across the country. No word on the price tag, though given the fact that no carrier picked the ATRIX 2, we can safely assume it won’t be subsidized. As expected, the ATRIX 2 will be delivered with Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform on board. The bad news is that Motorola has yet to officially confirm whether or not the ATRIX 2 will receive an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in the future. Anyway, Motorola is sweetening the deal by including several free EA games with the ATRIX 2 smartphone. No less than ten EA titles will be available for the ATRIX 2, including Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Need for Speed Shift, Dead Space, EA SPORTS FIFA 10, THE GAME OF LIFE, MONOPOLY, The Sims 3, Tetris, Worms and Bejeweled 2. Aside from that, the ATRIX 2 can be considered a mid–range Android phone, even if it comes equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1 GHz. Moreover, the smartphone packs 1 GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. Keep in mind that the smartphone will be shipped with an 8GB free memory card in the sales package. In addition, the ATRIX 2 sports a vibrant 4.3 inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating. “Smartphone users in Saudi Arabia crave power, versatility and style. Motorola ATRIX 2 is ready to emphatically deliver on all fronts - a world-class device for work and play with incredible, entertaining content from EA Games that puts your down- time to the test ,” said Raed Hafez, managing director for Motorola Mobility, Middle East & Africa.
