The Verge spotted itself the Smart Wash Basin prototype at Smartphone and Mobile Expo, and took a good look into it. The heavy lifting is done by a hidden Android tablet, and the reflective display is actually a separate monitor with a semitransparent piece of reflective glass. If you're thinking "smudges," hang fire, as RF proximity sensors are used, so you interact with it without smearing your paws across the shiny surface. Remember Apple's new iPad WiFi + 4G? Well, forget that moniker, as this variant of the company's latest slate has been quietly re-dubbed as the iPad WiFi + Cellular. Samsung is launching a new Windows Phone 7-based device to Europe. Dubbed the Omnia M, the Windows Phone 7.5-equipped handset ships with a 4-inch Super AMOLED display and 1GHz processor. The device comes with a minimalist design, boasting rounded edges and a curved back. According to Samsung, the case was designed ergonomically so it "sits comfortably in your hand." The real focus of the Omnia M is its social features, which include access to the company's Family Story, a cloud-based network for family members to share messages, videos, and photos. Samsung has also bundled its ChatON service with the device, allowing users to engage in group chatting and messaging across several platforms, including iOS and Android. It's been a busy week for Samsung's Windows Phone segment. Earlier this week, the company unveiled the Samsung Focus 2, a $50 Windows Phone boasting a 4-inch Super AMOLED display and 4G LTE support.
