Apple's iPad WiFi + 4G renamed 'iPad WiFi + Cellular' across many of its online stores - MobilEgypt

Remember Apple's new iPad WiFi + 4G? Well, forget that moniker, as this variant of the company's latest slate has been quietly re-dubbed as the iPad WiFi + Cellular. As noticed by 9to5Mac , the change occurred within the last "24-48 hours" across many of Apple's region specific webstores, including (but not limited to) those for the US, UK, Australia, Canada and various countries in Asia. If you'll recall, in many regions the best you'll get out of the slate is HSPA- connectivity (although, the slate is also equipped for LTE) -- something that Apple itself had considered good enough to be considered 4G, even after offering refunds to customers in Australia who (like many others) can't partake in its LTE. Interestingly, 9to5Mac also notes that a similar change hasn't made its way over to the iPad 2, which still has its cellular- equipped variant still dubbed, iPad 2 WiFi + 3G. We're reaching out to Apple for comment, so stay tuned. In the meantime, feel free to hit up the source links below for more insight.

New iPhone, iPad launching later this year? - MobilEgypt

Just about everyone expects Apple to launch a new iPhone later this year, but according to a new report, the company might also unveil a new iPad. Taiwanese Apple supply partner Pegatron has scored the production of Apple's next iPhone , as well as a new iPad, Digitimes is reporting, citing sources. The blog, which has become well known for its rumors, claims Pegatron will need to have the next iPhone available for a September launch. The new iPad will be ready for a fourth-quarter launch, according to the site's sources. Digitimes added another wrinkle to its report, saying that the new iPad will come with a 10- inch display. It's not clear if the blog was simply rounding up, and the device will feature the same 9.7-inch screen found in Apple's current iPad, or if the Cupertino, Calif.-based company will be offering up a slate with a legitimately 10-inch screen. One of the biggest questions surrounding the Apple ecosystem right now is when the next iPhone will actually launch. Some rumors have pegged the release date at October, while others suggest it'll launch over the summer. A few rumors have cropped up claiming a September launch. Rumors of another iPad launching later this year have also popped up at times, though the focus of those reports has revolved around a 7-inch Apple slate. Digitimes cited the 7-inch iPad, as well, in today's report, saying that that option could hit store shelves in August. Apple has stuck to its customary silence on the matter, deciding instead to let the rumor mill build up the hype for it. Still, CNET has contacted Apple for comment on the Digitimes report. We will update this story when we have more information.
