Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Now Available in the US - MobilEgypt

As expected, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 in the United States. The slate is now available for purchase from major retailers across the country, such as Amazon, Best Buy, Tiger Direct, Walmart, Office Depot and others. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 can be purchased for a suggested retail price of $399.99 USD (310 EUR), though not all models are available at all retailers. The new launch follows Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 release on the US market. The latter is now up for order for only $250 USD (195 EUR) via Best Buy. Unfortunately, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 does not come with a quad-core processor as previous rumors suggested. Instead, Samsung packed a dual-core TI OMAP 4430 CPU clocked at 1 GHz, along with a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM. The tablet comes with only 16GB of internal memory, but users can expand it further up to 32GB via microSD card. Software-wiser, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is complemented with TouchWiz UX user interface. The slate can be turned into an excellent TV companion by using it as a universal remote. At the same time, users can multitask on the web while watching and wirelessly stream the live feed from a TV to the slate. In addition, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 provides access to more than 450,000 apps via Google Play and Samsung Apps, as well as to thousands of TV shows and movies via Wi-Fi. It also packs microUSB 2.0 host support, allowing for blazing fast file transfer. As the name suggests, the tablet sports a large 10.1-inch PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen display that supports 800 x 1280 pixels resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating. Just like its Galaxy Tab 10.1 predecessor, the new tablet drains energy from a 7000 mAh Li-Polymer battery, which is rated for up to 200 hours of standby time or up to 10 hours of continuous usage.
