It was only a year ago that T-Mobile USA made
a splash when AT&T announced its intention
to buy the number four U.S. wireless carrier.
Now comes a turn for T-Mobile's parent
company to consider an acquisition, this time
of the nation's fifth largest carrier, MetroPCS.
That word comes from Bloomberg, which
broke the news earlier today.
T-Mobile parent company Deutsche Telekom
could merge MetroPCS and T-Mobile USA
under a single entity, or it might sell off the
business entirely, an option that has long been
proposed for the U.S. carrier that's been
steadily losing customers.
